FRANCONIA, PA: Car crashes into home, killing elderly woman in her bedroom on Friday, 6th April 2018

An 86-year-old woman was killed when a 1995 Toyota hit her bedroom in the 300 block of Harleysville Pike about 12:02 a.m. April 6, authorities said.

The Montgomery County District Attorney’s office, which is investigating the accident with Franconia Township Police Department, identified the woman as Mary Ann Lambert.

No other people in the house were injured when the crash happened, Franconia Township Police Department said.

The driver of the vehicle that hit the house, a male in his early 20s, remained on the scene and exited the vehicle on his own, police said. He was taken to Lehigh Valley Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

His name was not released as of the early evening of April 6.

Tire tracks at the scene appear to show the car went through neighboring yards before hitting the home. A mailbox at one of the neighboring homes was also hit.

The home is located in the block of Harleysville Pike (Route 113) between Godshall Road and Telford Pike.
