TRUCKEE, CA : Arrest made in crash that killed Truckee football coach on July, Wednesday 12th 2017

A Sacramento man has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter for his alleged role in the April crash that took the life of a Truckee football coach.
California Highway Patrol in Quincy said via Facebook Wednesday that David John Slaughter was arrested this week in Sacramento.
Slaughter has been charged with gross vehicular manslaughter for his role in the April 1 crash in Sierra County that killed Robert Shaffer, former coach for the Truckee High School football team.
Authorities said back in April that Slaughter's Ford pick-up truck crossed into the northbound lane of Highway 89, south of the Cold Creek campground, and into the path of Shaffer's car.
The two vehicles collided head-on, and Shaffer died at the scene. His two passengers survived with minor to moderate injuries.
Slaughter is being held at the Wayne Brown Correctional Facility in Nevada County on $125,000 bail.
