WATONGA, OK : Two injured in in Blaine County collision on Monday, December, 11th 2017

Two were injured Monday evening in a two-vehicle collision 9 miles west of Watonga in Blaine County, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol is reporting.

The collision occurred at 7 p.m. at the intersection of U.S. 270 and and Oklahoma 58, according to an OHP report.

A 2006 Freightliner, driven by Hubert Alan Clark, of Phoenix, Ariz., was southbound on Oklahoma 58 and failed to yield to a westbound 2013 Kenworth, driven by Daryl Ray Shields, 60, of Aurora, Colo., according to the report. The Freightliner struck the Kenworth's trailer and the Kenworth continued westbound, rolling a quarter of a time.

Clark was transported by Watonga EMS to Mercy Hospital in Watonga where he was admitted in stable condition with internal body and arm injures, according to the report.

His passenger, Gregory Warrick, 54, also was transported by Watonga EMS to Mercy Hospital, according to the report. He later was transferred to Mercy Hospital in Oklahoma City and admitted in critical condition with a head injury.

Shields was transported by Watonga EMS to Mercy Hospital and was treated and released.

Both drivers' conditions were listed as "apparently normal" and the cause of the collision is listed as "failure to yield - stop sign."

The collision blocked U.S. 270 for nine hours, with it reopening at 3 a.m. Tuesday.
