BETHEL TOWNSHIP, OH : Death toll rises in Bethel Twp crash on Thursday, January 5th 2017

Two people are dead following a crash in Bethel Township.

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of an accident around 8 a.m. Thursday in the 1600 block of Funderburg Road. Officials say they believe the crash happened overnight.

Crews worked to pick the car up out of the woods and place it on the road to better work to extract the victims from the mangled car.

A neighbor called police around 6:30 p.m. to report a crashing sound. Thursday morning, the car was on its top in a creek bed.

The car is described as being an older model-Honda. Officials on scene say the area is hilly and speed may have been a factor. They say weather did not play a role in this crash.
