An Elyria man is dead after his car went air born and smashed into two semi-trucks in Medina County.

The accident happened on Saturday around 1:16 a.m.

Michael Setliff, age 28, was driving west on State Route 303 in a grey 2003 Honda Accord, when the car approached a hill with a railroad crossing. As he drove over the crossing, the car went air born.

When the vehicle landed, it traveled off the left side of the road and hit several mailboxes.

It then traveled into the parking lot of a private business and crashed head-on into two parked semi-trucks.

Setliff was pronounced dead at the scene. He was not wearing his seatbelt at the time of the crash.

Police believe speed was a factor, but the crash remains under investigation.
