Brooklyn, NY : One peson injured after a car that crashed into Ithaca Stoveworks building at Meadow Street on Monday, April 18th, 2016

A man was extricated from a car that crashed into Ithaca Stoveworks building on Monday afternoon.

At about 1:12 p.m., a man reportedly went through a red light while traveling north on Meadow Street, through the intersection of Green Street, and crashed into the building. The front end of the blue Honda Accord was lodged under the building's

porch.

Emergency responders from the Ithaca Fire Department used the jaws of life to peel back the vehicle's roof. Bangs Ambulance personnel and Ithaca police were also aiding on the scene.

Responders freed the man from the vehicle.

He appeared to be conscious as paramedics got him into the ambulance. He was later flown to a regional trauma center, according to Ithaca Police Chief John Barber.

Tina Scruton, of Ithaca, said she was on Green Street approaching the intersection with Meadow Street when she saw the man's car go through the red light.
