PROVIDENCE, RI : Providence police officer injured in crash in the area of Atwells Avenue and Carleton Street on Tuesday, 5th February 2019

A Providence police officer was treated and released from the hospital after a crash early Tuesday morning with a stolen car.

Police say her injuries were not serious in the crash at about 3 a.m. in the area of Atwells Avenue and Carleton Street.

The driver of the other car fled on foot, police said. He was later caught and is facing charges, police said. Because he’s a juvenile, his name isn’t being released.
