Brownsville, TX: Creswell motorcyclist killed in 1-vehicle weekend crash near Brownsville on Sunday, 22nd July 2018

A Creswell man died in a weekend motorcycle crash near Brownsville, the Linn County Sheriff’s Office said Sunday.

Linn County Undersheriff Paul Timm gave the following account based on deputies’ preliminary investigation.

Steven Ray Bailey, 64, and a companion were traveling along Gap Road just south of Brownsville on separate motorcycles about 7 p.m. Saturday when Bailey’s 1997 Suzuki motorcycle left the southbound lane, crossed the northbound lane, went through a ditch and crashed into a driveway culvert.

A bystander and emergency personnel performed CPR on Bailey for about 30 minutes before the Creswell man was pronounced dead at the scene.

Timm said deputies believe speed was a factor in the crash.
