Officers responded to the area about 7 p.m. for the report of a crash, Callari said.
Two people, both passengers, who were traveling in a red 2004 Toyota Corolla were in critical condition after sustaining life-threatening injuries, Callari said. They were transported by American Medical Response to Strong Memorial Hospital.

The driver of a gray 2011 Mazda and his three passengers sustained minor injuries and were also taken to RGHas a precaution.
The cause of the crash remains under investigation, Callari said. "We're still trying to figure out exactly what happened," Callari said.
RPD's mobile command unit was at the scene. Rochester police technicians were also on scene. The intersection, which is just east of Portland Avenue, is expected to be closed for multiple hours.
