A man was killed Friday morning when his vehicle rolled over on Interstate 293 in Manchester.
State police said Edward Wells, 59, of Manchester, was driving on Front Street when his vehicle veered across the road, traveled through an uphill grass median and struck a guardrail, causing it to vault onto I-293. The vehicle came to rest on its roof in the left lane.
Wells was unresponsive when rescuers arrived. He was taken to Catholic Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
Police said Wells wasn't wearing a seat belt and it appears he was unconscious before the crash. Speed and alcohol do not appear to be factors, police said.
I-293 was reduced to one lane for about an hour.
