Killeen,TX : Driver dies after high-speed crash into home on December, Sunday 17th 2017

One driver is dead after a high-speed crash through the front of a home near Bunny Trail and Clear Creek Road in Killeen late Sunday night, Killeen police said.

Killeen Police Department spokeswoman Ofelia Miramontez said officers responded to the 3500 block of Barbed Wire Drive at 11:40 p.m. in reference to a crash.

Police said they found a green Dodge Challenger inside a home.

A preliminary investigation found the driver was traveling south on Bunny Trail at a high rate of speed. After the driver failed to negotiate a curve, the vehicle hit the curb and jumped into the front yard of the residence. The car then struck a tree in the front yard before crashing into the home.
