SUMMITVILLE, NY : A Wurtsboro man was killed on Friday, October 6, 2017
A Wurtsboro man was killed minutes before midnight on Friday when the car in which he was a passenger ran off U.S. Route 209 in Summitville and struck a tree.
The Sullivan County Sheriff’s Office said George Williams III, 26, was pronounced dead at the scene by Coroner Alan Kesten.
The driver, Luke Dardis, 21, of Stamford, Connecticut, was airlifted to Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla in serious but stable condition.
Dardis was charged with driving while intoxicated pending the outcome of a full investigation.
