Baton Rouge, LA : Man crossing highway is struck, killed Thursday in East Baton Rouge Parish

State police say a 62-year-old man was struck and killed Thursday as he tried to cross Jefferson Highway in East Baton Rouge Parish. Troopers tell The Advocate that Robert Vines of Winnfield was struck by a pickup truck around 7:30 a.m. Trooper Jared Sandifer says a stopped vehicle obstructed the view of a Baton Rouge man driving the pickup.
