Danville,VI : Danville woman dies following Wednesday crash on January, Wednesday 3rd 2018

A Danville woman is reported to have died following a two-vehicle crash on Franklin Turnpike in Pittsylvania County on Wednesday morning.

The head-on collision occurred at Route 41 and Golf Club Road when a 2003 Honda Accord traveling north crossed the center line and struck a southbound 1996 Buick Lesabre driven by 58-year-old Mary E. Fowlkes, reported Virginia State Police.


Fowlkes, who was wearing her seat belt, was transported to SOVAH Health-Danville where she later died, Virginia State Police Sgt. Rick Garletts reported.

The driver of the Honda, Nathan T. Bailey, 28, of Danville, was wearing his seat belt and was transported to SOVAH Health- Danville, state police reported. Bailey's condition is not known.
