WICHITA, KS : 1 man seriously hurt in Ellis County crash on Saturday, 1st June 2024

One man sustained serious injuries after crashing his vehicle in Ellis County on Saturday morning.

The Kansas Highway Patrol said the crash happened on Interstate 70 around 9:30 a.m. when a 47-year-old man fell asleep while driving westbound on I-70.

The man drifted into the median, overcorrected, and began sliding sideways. He then struck a paved turn-around, causing the vehicle to roll approximately three times according to KHP.

The man was taken to an area hospital with suspected serious injuries.
