Hopkinsville, KY : Two-vehicle collision on South Virginia causes several injuries on Tuesday, 4th February, 2020
Two people were injured in a two-vehicle wreck at 5:50 p.m. Tuesday after one of the drivers believed South Virginia Street to be a two-way street, according to a Hopkinsville Police Department report.
The report stated Richard A. Moseley, 59, Dickson, Tennessee, and Jessica M. Cherry, 37, Hopkinsville, were both driving north on South Virginia when the accident occurred.
Moseley told police that he thought South Virginia was a two-way street and was attempting to turn left into a parking lot. Moseley said that he did not look over his shoulder to see if there was a vehicle behind him as he was watching to see if vehicles would be driving towards him.
Moseley then veered into the left lane and struck Cherry’s vehicle. The collision caused Cherry’s vehicle to leave the roadway and strike a utility pole, the report added.
