New Port Richey, FL : One pedestrian died and another seriously injured when two cars struck them on Friday August 8th 2014

One pedestrian was killed and another seriously injured Friday night after the pair was struck by two cars on State Road 54 in New Port Richey. Stacey Arthur Butcher, a 42-year-old Pasco County resident, was pronounced dead at the scene just after 10 pm. Christopher J. Momier, 24, was transported to Bayonet Point Medical Center where he is listed in serious condition. According to a Florida Highway Patrol report the two men were lying in an unlit roadway wearing dark clothing at the time of the incident. The drivers of the vehicles that hit them immediately stopped to render assistance. Investigators say the drivers did not see the men until it was too late. None of the occupants of the two vehicles were injured and authorities do not known why Butcher and Momier were in the road. No charges have been filed as the investigation continues.
