Greenville, SC : Four children injured in wreck on Edwards Road on Friday, 26th August, 2016
Greenville, South Carolina
Four children - ages 12, 13, 15 and 17 - were taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital by ambulance after a two vehicle wreck in Taylors Friday morning, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.
The wreck happened as a vehicle pulled onto Edwards Road from Everest Street at 8:02 a.m. about 1.7 miles east of Greenville, said SCHP Trooper Joe Hovis.
A 2006 Nissan sedan driven by the 17-year-old victim was struck by a 2005 Saturn sedan driven by a 25-year-old man from Taylors, according to Hovis and officials on scene.
The driver of the Saturn vehicle was seatbelted and was not transported to the hospital.
All four people in the Nissan were injured. At least one was not wearing a seatbelt, Hovis said.
As the driver of the Saturn drove north on Edwards Road, his vehicle struck the Nissan in the side, Hovis said. The wreck is still under investigation and any possible charges hadn't been filed, he said.
On scene, the Nissan had extensive damage to its front end while the black Saturn sedan veered off the road and through a wooden fence in front of a home. Edwards Road was blocked while troopers investigated the wreck.
