Providence, RI : 19-year-old woman killed in accident on 295 on ramp on Wednesday night July 23rd 2014

A 19-year-old woman was killed in a single car accident on an on ramp to 295 North from 37 West.

State Police say Brianna Higgins was the only passenger in the vehicle when she struck a guardrail on the on ramp around 11 p.m. Wednesday night. She was transported to the hospital where she died of internal injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation. According to State Police she had just left her Warwick home a short time before the accident.
Friends have planned a candlelight vigil to remember Higgins Thursday night.
