Poplar,WI : Deputy involved in three-car crash identified on April, wednesday 3rd 2017

The Wisconsin State Patrol says a Douglas County Sheriff's Deputy was treated and released from a hospital after she was involved in a three-vehicle crash Wednesday morning.

Douglas County Sheriff's Deputy Kris Watt was pulled over to check on a disabled vehicle on westbound Highway Two near Bayfield Road west of Poplar around 7:30.

Officials with the Sheriff's Department say a westbound white Jeep was slowing down as a courtesy to Watt when a red Ford Explorer traveling in the same direction hit the Jeep from behind.

The Jeep went across the eastbound lane, and rolled into the ditch.

The Explorer then hit the squad car, causing the squad to go into the ditch.

The Wisconsin State Patrol is investigating the crash.
