REDDING, CA : 22-year-old dies at night Redding crash scene on Thursday, 12th August 2021
A 22-year-old person died at the scene of a crash Wednesday night in Redding, according to the Redding Police Department.
Police responded to a two-vehicle traffic collision in the area of Old Oregon Trail and Dir Kinder Way around 7:20 p.m. Wednesday.
When officers arrived, they said they found a 2002 Honda Accord with major damage and the driver, a 22-year-old from Anderson, ejected from the vehicle.
The 22-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation revealed the driver of the Accord was traveling south on Old Oregon Trail at a high speed when it crossed the double yellow lines and hit a 2014 Ford F-150.
The accord then hit a tree after crashing into the truck and came to a rest in a field to the west of Old Oregon Trail.
Police said the driver of the Accord was not wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
The crash remains under investigation.
The identity of the person has not been released at this time.
