Torrance,CA : Motorcyclist killed in Torrance crash on August, Monday 28th 2017

A motorcyclist killed Sunday night in a collision with a vehicle in Torrance had just turned 48 years old last week, police said.

Jeffrey John Dorler, whose birthday was Thursday, was pronounced dead at the scene of the crash of the 9:15 p.m. crash in the northbound lanes of Hawthorne Boulevard at Halison Street, coroner’s officials said.

Details of how the crash occurred were not immediately available. Torrance police Sgt. Ronald Harris said it remained under investigation.

No one else was hurt.

The northbound lanes were closed to traffic between Halison and Del Amo Boulevard until early this morning.

The coroner’s office did not have a city of residence for Dorler, but his Facebook page indicated he lived in Redondo Beach. He worked as a house painter and was a graduate of Redondo Union High School. His status updates included several posts about fishing, auto racing and love for motorcycle riding.
