MAYVILLE, NY : Angola man charged in Chautauqua County crash on Saturday, June 10, 2017

An Erie County, New York, man was jailed in Chautauqua County Sunday on charges in a vehicle-pedestrian crash in Ripley that seriously injured a Buffalo man on Saturday night.

Rory S. Stevenson, 61, of Angola, was placed in the Chautauqua County Jail Sunday morning following his arraignment on charges including vehicular assault and driving while intoxicated in a crash that happened on Route 20 in Ripley shortly after 11 p.m. Saturday.

Details on the crash were unavailable Sunday. The pedestrian, identified by Chautauqua County sheriff’s deputies as 43-year-old Mathew C. Vogt, of Buffalo, was flown from the scene to UPMC Hamot with reported serious life-threatening injuries, authorities reported Sunday. Information on Vogt’s condition was not available Sunday afternoon.
