Sunbury, PA : A 29-year-old man has been admitted to Evangelical Hospital after a crash on Saturday, July 29, 2017

A 29-year-old man has been admitted to Evangelical Hospital after a crash last night in Snyder County, said Selinsgrove state police Trooper Phillip Dohner.

Dohner said Jeremy Shipman, of Shamokin Dam, was driving in his 2013 Hyundai Elantra with Mason Ritter, 29, of Selinsgrove, on New Berlin Highway around 5:50 p.m. He stopped at a stop sign at the intersection with State Route 104 and planned to turn south toward Middleburg Borough, Dohner said.

Shipman was unable to successfully turn, Dohner said, and was hit by a northbound 2002 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Steven Young, 22, of Middleburg. Both vehicles sustained disabling damage.

Dohner said Shipman was taken to Evangelical Community Hospital for a suspected leg injury.

Evangelical spokeswoman Deanna Hollenbach said Shipman was admitted to the hospital but she could not provide his condition.

Dohner said Ritter received a laceration on his head during the crash but was released by Reliance Ambulance.

Young said he suffered from minor facial pain after the crash but refused medical attention, Dohner said.

Reliance Fire Department, Stahl Brothers towing and local fire police assisted at the scene.
