A young housewife who lived most of her life in Norwalk was fatally injured in a traffic accident near here Wednesday.
Mrs. Robert L.M. Landenberg, 29, who lived in rural Downingtown for the last two years, died during surgery at Chester County Hospital. She suffered a concussion, internal injuries and multiple cuts in a 5 p.m. accident on State Route 100.
Mrs. Landenberg, a waitress at a Holiday Inn, was driving to work in a rainstorm when her van skidded out of control and into the oncoming lane. A car driven by Bruce W. Carter, 29, of Posttstown, Pa., crashed into the side of the van. Both persons were taken to the hospital.
Mrs. Landenberg was the former Carolyn Hippler, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leon Hippler, 205 Whittlesey Ave. Mr. Hippler is an employee of the city water department and Mrs. Hippler works at Rotary Printing. Her husband’s family operates the Ideal Appliance Center in Norwalk.
She graduated from St. Paul High School in 1963 and married Landenberg in Jan, 1964. They lived in Norwalk two years after they were married and then moved to Cleveland where they lived until they moved to Downingtowon two years ago.
