MULBERRY, FL : A two-car crash in Mulberry on Saturday, January, 27th 2018

A two-car crash in Mulberry on Saturday night resulted in the death of a Bartow man.

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office reported a vehicle crash at State Road 60 at County Line Road at about 9:45 p.m. involved a 1998 four-door Mercedes-Benz driven by Reginald Rogers, 39, of Bartow and a 2006 Toyota Rav driven by Eloy Pedro of Mulberry.

According to Michele Cash, a spokeswoman with the Sheriff’s Office, witnesses at the scene said Rogers entered into the eastbound outside lane of S.R. 60 from a convenience store on the south side of the roadway. At the same time, Pedro was going east on S.R. 60 — also in the outside lane. Rogers reportedly pulled out of the convenience store approximately 75 feet east of the traffic signal and was hit in the rear by the front of Pedro’s Toyota.
