GAYLORD, MI : 2 killed in head-on collision on I-75 near Gaylord exit 282 on Sunday, 22nd December, 2019

Two people were killed Sunday afternoon in a head-on collision on I-75 near Gaylord exit 282 when one of the vehicles was heading the wrong way on the freeway, sheriff’s office officials said.

According to a press release from the Otsego County Sheriff’s Department, the crash happened around 4 p.m. and upon arrival, responding sheriff’s deputies and Gaylord City Police officers attempted to render aid to the victims, but they were declared dead at the scene.

The vehicles involved were occupied only by the drivers, authorities said.

According to the release, the collision occurred when a vehicle was traveling northbound on the southbound lanes.

Authorities were not releasing the names of the victims as of Monday’s press time as an investigation continues.
