Camden, DE : Maryland woman killed and two others injured in a two-vehicle crash on Willow Grove Road, west of Farm Lane on Sunday afternoon, April 17, 2016
One person was killed and two others were injured in a two-vehicle crash Sunday afternoon west of Camden, Delaware State Police said.
Master Cpl. Gary Fournier, a state police spokesman, gave the following account:
Nathaniel J. Plass, 62, of Felton, was a 2014 Silver Toyota Corolla west on Willow Grove Road (Del. 10) just west of Farm Lane at about 1:28 p.m. Meanwhile, Kassia J. Pulley, 41, of Chester, Maryland, was driving east in a 2011 Honda Accord on Del. 10.
For unknown reasons, the Corolla crossed over into the eastbound lane and struck the Honda nearly head-on, causing both vehicles to spin. The Corolla came to a stop in the middle of the road. The Accord went into a ditch.
Pulley, who was wearing a seat belt, sustained multiple traumatic injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A passenger in the Accord, Ambrose D. Robinson, 39, of Chester, Maryland, was not wearing a seat belt. He was taken to Bayhealth Kent General Hospital and admitted with non-life-threatening injuries.
Plass, who was wearing a seat belt, was airlifted by State Police Aviation (Trooper 2) to Christiana Hospital, where he was admitted with non-life-threatening injuries.
The Delaware State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit is is investigating this collision. Speed and alcohol do not appear to have been factors.
Del. 10 west of Farm Lane was closed for two and a half hours while the crash was investigated and cleared.
