Lafayette, CA : Motorcyclist Injured In Highway 24 Crash In Lafayette on Thursday morning, October 30, 2014
A motorcyclist was injured in a crash that briefly blocked westbound lanes of state Highway 24 in Lafayette this morning, a California Highway Patrol officer said.
The crash involving a car and a motorcyclist was reported around 7:20 a.m. on westbound Highway 24 near the Central Lafayette off-ramp, CHP Officer John Fransen said.
Officers found the motorcyclist down in a left lane of traffic. The man was conscious when he was taken to a hospital with "minor to moderate injuries," Fransen said.
The driver of the car involved in the crash has been cooperative with the CHP investigation and drugs or alcohol are not considered factors in the collision.
The CHP shut down three westbound lanes on Highway 24 for about 20 minutes after the collision, Fransen said.
The CHP continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash.
