Birmingham woman dies in fiery accident on Alabama

A Birmingham woman was killed in a fiery crash Thursday night on Interstate 59 between Collinsville and Fort Payne.Nancy McCray, 65, died in the wreck about 7:15 p.m., according to Alabama State Troopers.The wreck happened when McCray, driving a 2000 Nissan Sentra and headed northbound, apparently crossed the median and struck a 1998 Mack truck head on, DeKalb County Coroner Tom Wilson said. Both vehicles burned. The truck was hauling frozen turkeys, Wilson said.
The driver, Ronald Losh, 65, Harrisonburg, Va., was burned and flown from the scene to UAB Hospital. He was listed Friday in serious condition.The southbound lanes of the interstate were closed for a period of time.
