ST. LOUIS, MO : Fatal 3-car crash shuts down WB I-70 at Salisbury on Sunday, 10th September 2023

One person has died after an early morning crash that closed down I-70 Westbound for several hours Sunday.

According to police, the crash happened at 8:27 a.m. Sunday near the Salisbury exit on westbound I-70. The preliminary investigation indicates a 2012 Mazda 5 was involved in a single-car crash and stopped in one of the lanes. A person believed to be the driver of the Mazda was retrieving items from the car when the Mazda was hit by a 2010 Buick Lacrosse. The Mazda hit the concrete median, and the Buick stopped in a lane. The driver of the Buick left the scene in another car. The driver of the Mazda was taken to an area hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
