A 79-year-old Utah woman died early Friday after a car crash in Hurricane.release.A 2002 Buick Rendezvous had stopped on the north side of 200 West and then attempted to cross State Street, according to police. A 2005 Chevrolet Avalanche was traveling east on State Street, when police believe the Buick pulled out in front of the Avalanche, causing a collision.
The Buick's driver, an 84-year-old man, was not injured. Two of his passengers — a man and a woman both also in their early-80s — were taken to a hospital in stable condition, according to police. But a third passenger, Anna L. Beatty, was taken to a local hospital and died from her injuries at about 3 a.m.The two occupants in the Avalanche — a 22-year-old male driver and his 15-year-old passenger — were not injured.Hurricane police officials said the driver of the Buick was cited for failure to yield the right of way.
