ASHEVILLE, NC : Driver charged after pedestrian killed in I-240 crash on Saturday, November 12th 2016

Asheville police said a driver faces charges after hitting and killing a man who was walking on the shoulder of I-240 on Saturday.
Police said the collision happened just after 6 a.m. on I-240 West near Chunns Cove Road.
26-year-old Aaron Lee Thurman of Black Mountain was driving a blue 1990 Chevrolet GMT 400 that entered into the right shoulder and struck a pedestrian, who police identified as 23-year-old Christian Blade Johnson of Asheville.
Johnson died at the scene.
Thurman was charged with driving while impaired and police said he may face additional charges.
