Casa Grande, AZ : Two people died when pickup, big rig collide on Interstate 10 in Casa Grande area on Monday morning, Sep 21, 2015

Authorities say two people are dead from a collision which occurred when a pickup truck crossed the median of Interstate 10 in the Casa Grande area.

State Trooper Tim Case says a westbound pickup crossed the median and struck an eastbound tractor-trailer rig hauling milk Monday morning, killing both drivers.

One eastbound lane remained closed several hours after the collision, causing a backup of eastbound traffic.

News video showed the tanker on its side next to the highway, with residue from spilled milk covering nearby ground.

The accident occurred east of State Route 387 at about 5 a.m.
