Stillwater, OK : Three injured, Stillwater man OK in Enid collision early Friday evening, November 4, 2016
A collision early Friday evening just north of Enid sent two people to local hospitals to be treated for their injuries.
The collision, which involved Toyota Avalon and a Ford F-150, occurred at the intersection of U.S. Highway 81 and Oklahoma Highway 45 at about 6:15 p.m. Driver Richard McKnight and two other Enid residents, Robert Anderson and Lavonn McKnight, were in the Avalon.
According to the initial release from an Oklahoma Highway Patrol trooper's report, the Avalon was driving west on Highway 45 and James Dunlap, a Stillwater resident, was driving south on U.S. 81 when Richard failed to yield and Dunlap's F-150 hit the Avalon on the passenger side.
Dunlap was uninjured and Richard was treated and released at St. Mary's Hospital in Enid. Lavonn was admitted there in critical condition with a head injury, and Anderson was admitted to Bass Hospital in serious condition with internal chest and leg injuries.
The trooper wrote that the cause of the collision is under investigation, but both drivers' conditions appeared to be normal. Anderson was wearing a seatbelt, but it's unclear whether Richard or Lavonn were wearing theirs, according to the report.
