Herington, KS : Two people injured in car vs. semi crash on U.S. 56 in Marion County on Tuesday morning, June 7, 2016

Two people were possibly hurt in a car vs. semi crash in Marion County Tuesday morning.

According to a report by the Kansas Highway Patrol, Harvey Jr. King, 68, of Alta Vista, was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 heading south on U.S. 56 and 360th Road about 6 miles south of Herington when he swerved to avoid the 2014 semi-tractor pulling a trailer driven by Edgar Jackson, 61, of Parsons, who was turning west onto 360th Road.

King drove off the road and struck the rear of the semi around 11:40 a.m., according to the report.

King was sent to Herington Municipal Hospital for possible injuries. Jackson was also possibly injured but was not taken to the hospital.

Jackson was wearing his seat belt, but it was not noted if King was.
