INDIANAPOLIS, IN : One hurt in downtown crash near Indiana Statehouse on Friday, March 10th 2017

A man is recovering at Eskenazi Hospital after a downtown crash Friday morning.

The crash happened at the intersection of Ohio Street and Senate Avenue near the Indiana Statehouse around 12:30 a.m.

Police say the car was driving southbound on Senate, when the road ended. The man hit a steel post intended to keep cars from driving on a walkway at the end of Senate Ave and flipped the car over.

The man had to be removed from the car by firefighters.

Police say his injuries are not expected to be life-threatening.
