Wilmington, NC : Man charged with DWI after crash traps three people in car on Saturday, March 28, 2015

Officers with the Wilmington Police Department charged a man with DWI in response to a an accident that pinned three people inside a vehicle.

According to New Hanover Communications, the wreck at the intersection of Shipyard and Independence boulevards was reported just before 7 p.m. Saturday.

WPD Spokeswoman Cathryn Lindsay said the wreck involved two vehicles and four people. Three people were pinned inside one of the vehicles. They were cut out and taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The driver of the other vehicle, James Carroll, 33, was charged with DWI and two counts of felony serious injury by vehicle. Officers said he was also cited for driving with a revoked license and expired tags.
