BLUEFIELD, WV : One injured in two-vehicle crash near Brushfork on Monday, 7th November 2016
One person was injured Monday following a two-vehicle accident on U.S. Route 52 near Brushfork.
The incident occurred near Littlesburg Road.
"I responded to a two-car motor vehicle accident at the intersection of Route 52 and Littlesburg Road," West Virginia State Police Trooper D. B. Whited said. "Upon speaking to both drivers, it appears that one vehicle failed to yield the right of way coming off of Littlesburg Road. It pulled out in front of the other vehicle."
Whited said one person was transported to Bluefield Regional Medical Center Monday afternoon following the incident.
"One occupant of the first vehicle is being transported to the Bluefield hospital," Whited said. "It's just more of a status check. He's not complaining of any injuries. It's just to check him out."
The two cars involved in the incident were a maroon Jeep Patriot and a silver Chevrolet Malibu.
"The maroon Jeep Patriot failed to yield right of way while exiting Littlesburg Road," Whited said. "At which time it was struck by the silver Malibu traveling on Route 52."
Whited said no citations were being issued at this time.
The incident occurred at approximately 2:45 p.m. West Virginia State Police, Montcalm Volunteer Fire Department, Bluewell Volunteer Fire Department and Bluefield Rescue Squad all responded to the incident.
