Terrebonne Parish, LA : Houma woman killed in single-vehicle crash in Schriever on Saturday, May 7, 2016

A Houma woman was killed today when her vehicle ran off La. 24, into a ditch and struck a concrete driveway, State Police said.

Tekel Coleman, 34, was traveling south on La. 24 near the Darlene Street Bridge shortly before 8 a.m. when her vehicle ran off the road to the left, entered a small ditch and struck a concrete driveway. Coleman's vehicle overturned and she sustained fatal injuries, Troop C said in a news release. She was pronounced dead by the Terrebonne Parish Coroner's Office.

Impairment is unknown and standard toxicology tests are pending. Coleman was wearing her seat belt at the time of the crash.
