Pratt, KS : Turon man injured in two-vehicle accident on K-61 in Pratt County on Saturday, October 29, 2016

A Turon man was injured following a two-vehicle accident Oct. 29 on K-61 in Pratt County. Injured in the accident was David Goodwin, 71 of Turon.

The accident occurred when Goodwin was northbound on K-61 at NE 50th Avenue on a 2001 Harley Davidson motorcycle and came upon traffic that had to slow for a vehicle turning off the road, said Pratt County Undersheriff Jimmy White.

Goodwin laid the motorcycle down and slid into the rear end of a northbound 2009 Hyundai driven by Amber Hecker, 25 of Pratt. Pratt County EMS transported Goodwin to Pratt Regional Medical Center. He was later transferred to a Wichita hospital in a LifeTeam helicopter. Goodwin was not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Hecker was wearing a seatbelt and was not injured in the accident that was reported at 4:25 p.m.
