Champaign County, OH : Chad Bennett, 39, dies in ATV crash in Concord Township on Sunday, April 24, 2016

Shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday, deputies from the Champaign County Sheriff’s Office responded to the intersection of west State Route 29 and Church Road in Concord Township to an accident that claimed the life of Chad Bennett, 39, of Church Road.

Reports indicate Mr. Bennett was operating an ATV southbound on Church Road, failed to stop for a stop sign at the intersection and struck a vehicle driven by Clark Martin of Urbana.

Mr. Bennett was pronounced dead at the scene. Mr. Martin and a passenger, Nancy Martin, suffered minor injuries and were transported to Mercy Hospital in Urbana by Urbana EMS and Macochee EMS units.

The West Liberty and Urbana fire departments assisted at the scene. The accident remains under investigation.
