Blountstown, FL : Wewahitchka man killed in traffic accident in Calhoun County on Thursday night, May 12, 2016

A Wewahitchka resident was killed Thursday night following a traffic accident in Calhoun County.

According to the Florida Highway Patrol, William Kelly, 31, of Wewahitchka, was driving State 71 when his vehicle went off the road near SE Hill Brogdon Road, just north of the Gulf County line.

Kelly’s car made impact with a drainage tunnel in a ditch, overturning numerous times and ejecting him from the vehicle.

Officials said Kelly, who was not wearing a seat belt when the vehicle made impact, was pronounced dead at the scene.
