Sacramento,CA : Calgarian skydiver killed in Southern California roof crash on January, Monday 22nd 2018
The Riverside County coroner’s bureau identified the man who died Monday afternoon as Aime-Jean St. Hilaire-Adam, a 27-year-old from Calgary.
He fell onto a home in Perris, a centre for skydiving about 112 kilometres southeast of Los Angeles.
“We got the call yesterday of the incident from the fire department, who pronounced the gentleman deceased at the scene,” said Deputy Mike Vasquez with the Riverside County sheriff’s department.
“We arrived and our coroner responded and assumed the investigation.”
He added police have contacted the National Transportation Safety Board and the Federal Aviation Administration for their expertise on the investigation.
The Wide Open Wingsuit Series was scheduled to take place until Tuesday in the area.
“It’s always a sad time that we have to do this, especially with the event going on and all the festivities,” said Vasquez.
The home is about three kilometres southwest of Perris Valley Airport, which is a popular spot for skydivers.
