A man is dead following a single-vehicle crash Saturday night on Interstate 5 north of Castaic, according to the California Highway Patrol. About 10 p.m. Saturday, a man whose identity has not been released was driving a 2000 Chrysler Town and Country car northbound on I-5, north of Vista Del Lago Road, in the lane next to the fast lane, at about 65 miles per hour, said CHP Officer E. Scott in a news release issued Sunday morning. “For an unknown reason, the vehicle veered to the right and crossed the number 3 and number 4 lanes and the right shoulder,” he said, referring to the lanes next to the shoulder. “The vehicle traveled up an ascending dirt embankment, rolled over, and came to a rest on its left side within the right shoulder facing in an easterly direction,” Scott said. Paramedics with the Los Angeles County Fire Department responded to reports of the crash, said Fire Department Supervisor Art Marrujo. “We got the call as a traffic collision,” he said. “One person was transported to a local hospital.” source : Man killed in single-car crash north of Castaic
