NORCROSS, GA : Big rig driver charged after crashing into gas station on Friday, 3rd January, 2020

Authorities have charged the driver of a tractor-trailer that crashed into multiple vehicles and overturned at a Georgia gas station.

In a statement Friday, Georgia State Patrol said Andrel Tremaine Meadows, 42, faces multiple charges, including driving too fast for conditions, following too close and having an unsecure load, The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported.Ten vehicles were damaged in the crash Thursday morning in Norcross. No life-threatening injuries were reported, but one person had to be freed from the wreckage, authorities said.

Meadows said he had applied his breaks to avoid a crash and the truck slid, which caused him to lose control, authorities said.
