Whitefish-bay , WI : 26 - Years old Kristen Caves struck and killed by car while crossing Silver Spring Drive on Tuesday afternoon ,May 26th 2015

The woman struck and killed by a car Tuesday in Whitefish Bay has been identified.

Police said Kristen Caves, 26, died at Froedtert Hospital Thursday after being hit while crossing Silver Spring Drive later Tuesday afternoon.

Police said a car stopped to let the woman cross, but then another vehicle hit the stopped car, sending it into the victim.

Officers are trying to determine if the driver of the first car -- a black Audi -- accidentally hit the accelerator after being bumped by the other car.

Caves is being described as fun and hard-working.

She was employed at a business along Silver Spring Drive but used to work at Jimmy John's in Oconomowoc, where her former co-workers remembered her.
