WICHITA, KS : Mother of man killed in motorcycle crash Wichita police raise awareness on Tuesday, 27th February 2024

A mother is speaking out after less than a week after her son died in a motorcycle crash in east Wichita. Twenty-two-year-old Gabriel Cortez died last Tuesday after a crash involving his motorcycle and a minivan at the intersection of Rock Road and Rockhill Street, near Bradley Fair.

Cortez was the second motorcyclist killed in a crash on the stretch of Rock Road just south of 21st Street in less than a month. In late January, 41-year-old Robert Johnson, of Wichita was involved in a crash involving his motorcycle and a sedan in the 1800 block of North Rock Road. He was taken to the hospital where he later died from his injuries.
