MARTINEZ, CA : Fatal vehicle-pedestrian collision on Thursday, 21st February 2019
The Contra Costa Sheriff’s Office coroner’s staff are responding to a report of a person fatally struck by a vehicle on Highway 4, authorities said.
Just before 8:30 p.m. Thursday, California Highway Patrol officers responded to reports of an initial collision in the eastbound lanes of Highway 4 just west of the Pacheco Boulevard offramp, CHP Officer Damian Johnston said.
The CHP issued a Sig-Alert at 8:47 p.m., advising drivers that all westbound lanes were blocked at Glacier Drive, with traffic diverted to Pacheco and no estimated time of reopening.
The alert was updated at 9:05 p.m., after one lane was opened to traffic.
