Piper City,IL: Peotone woman dies in U.S. 24 accident on November, Monday 20th 2017

A 43-year old Will County woman died in a one-vehicle accident Wednesday morning in northern Ford County.

District 21 Illinois State Police said that Deanna L. Elward of Peotone was driving a 2003 Chevrolet Monte Carlo west on U.S. 24 when the car left the road and overturned several times, landing in a bean field. The accident occurred at about 6:28 a.m. near County Road 1775 East, about three miles east of Piper City.Miss Elward, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from her vehicle.

Ford County Coroner Doug Wallace said he pronounced her deceased at 7:25 a.m. at the scene.

Wallace said Miss Elward was on her way to see family.
